Established in 2006 by the Duke Center for Reconciliation and three localpartner organizations, the African Great Lakes Initiative seeks to inspire, form, and support leaders in the Great Lakes Region of East Africa in their commitment to peace and reconciliation.
The signature program of the initiative is a week-long leadership Institute, held every January. which brings together close to 150 Christian leaders from the region for a time of learning, community, and rest.
