Father Emmanuel recently had the privilege of participating in a 2-hour Zoom workshop with His Grace Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Archbishop is planning to go on retreat and work on a book about reconciliation, so he wanted to discuss ideas and learn from the “experts” currently in the field of reconciliation. Father Emmanuel was extremely grateful to be chosen to participate in such a wonderful convening.

Additionally, this past month, Pastor Mike Cantley of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Martinsburg, Virginia extensively lifted up and referred to Father Emmanuel’s work during his homily. Many quotes he used came from Father Emmanuel’s sermon, “Odd Bodies.” You can listen to Pastor Cantley’s service here. If you do not want to watch the entire service, feel free to start at the 1h.02m mark.

Finally, the end of February brought exciting news in Uganda: The Bethany Land Institute Caretaker Formation Program was officially launched. After many years of dreaming, visioning and planning, the program has welcomed its first cohort of caretakers. When speaking to the caretakers, Father Emmanuel congratulated them on being part of an exciting vision and encouraged them to live into the revolutionary spirit of Bethany. He is extremely grateful for all the gifts that made this day possible. Attached below are some pictures from the opening day!
